Here are just a couple of articles within the month that I call “Church Bashing”, and they love to particularly bash “baby boomers” or at the very least, show they have left the “Church” in this present age.
19 Reasons Boomers are Turning Their Back on The Church Story by Sharon Watkins
15 Ex-Christians Tell Us Why They Are No Longer Religious Story by Ash Kingston
I realize that the “body of Christ” is made up of the ecclesia of God, that is to say, individuals who are washed in the blood of Jesus for forgiveness of sins, and filled with the Holy Spirit of God. Yet the bigger issue is the marginalization of the “Church” as a moral authority which has grown politically dead as an effective bulwark against sin in our culture.
As one who spent his life in the military, I remember Bibles and Strength for Service to God and Country books being handed out for free to our Armed Forces from WW2 until about the 60s and 70s. After that, the secular NEWS would not show that part of the troops being mobilized for war. By experience, I know, as I was one of those handing out that material along with my mother and father.
This is “the Spirit of Anti-Christ” which hates the truth of God and the Grace provided to humanity by way of the cross, on whom his Son suffered and died for our transgressions. And yes, many of the Churches have become Apostate and Corrupt, yet the bigger issue – is to crush the Church of Christ and the Gospel.
I made the statement to 15 Ex-Christians Tell Us Why They Are No Longer Religious … Religion never saved anyone, it is only by accepting the atonement of Jesus Christ, and his indwelling Holy Spirit that changes us into a new creation by HIS Sanctification, And not of ourselves, lest any man should boast!
And to 19 Reasons Boomers are Turning Their Back on The Church … Most of the “Boomers” I know have returned to their churches, it must be the days we are living in, which continue to bash the church and many of its seniors. Have some stones, and print that about (“less peaceful” religions) Islam instead…
My question is, will you stand? Or will you be a part of the denial of our past and the Gospel, as just something else to be discarded like Joseph Stalin had once hoped for America? it is definitely harder to stand for Christ and his Church than to cower and blend in with the crowd!
